A Drop in Youth Unemployment and a Rise in Apprenticehships: Why Vocational Learning Is Driving the Green Shoots Emerging in Wales This Spring
Spring has sprung here in Wales, and brought with it a number of green shoots in the process. According to recent labour market statistics, youth unemployment (16-24) is falling faster in Wales than in the rest of the UK.
The aim behind this reform is to make sure no young person is left behind, that they have the skills to go on to employment and live a full life. This week saw Government introduce plans for young people who do not achieve an A*-C grade in maths or English at GCSE to continue to study the subjects post-16.
