In one fell swoop, WWE has changed the landscape of British Wrestling. At a press conference in London, jaws dropped as Paul "Triple H" Levesque revealed that the company would be hosting a two-night tournament on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 January 2017 at Blackpool's Empress Ballroom in order to crown its first-ever WWE United Kingdom Champion live on the WWE Network. The next step, it is hoped, is a weekly UK show.
ICW is the BEST WRESTLING promotion in the WORLD. It showcases world class talent and features the biggest names in the industry. ICW can rival any company, pound for pound. We might not have the same exposure as TNA, ROH or even WWE, but you can put any ICW Roster member on any of their shows and they'll blow you away.
Wolfgang, for those that have seen him in action, is one of the fiercest and most impressive wrestlers on these shores. We had the privilege of speaking to the current ICW champ about his past, present and future.
They did it. An independent wrestling company drew 4000 fans and delivered the biggest and best live wrestling event in some 30 years. It wasn't any company though, it was Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) and its business as usual because world eating is what they do.
Our final stop and homecoming, had to be epic and what better way to finish than a night with ICW. Having colonised Scotland, the promotion had embarked upon its biggest UK tour and no doubt to the chagrin of southern promotions, had packed out Camden's KOKO for the night which is where we caught up with them.
