Every Winner Has Scars

Of course you have to bring your awareness to and face your fear. Because it is only then that you discover the thing that billions of people throughout history have discovered before you - that failure or being wrong will not kill you.

Are you a Winner?

As Herbert Casson says,

"Every winner has scars"

and although we don't necessarily want to go through the pain of failure it is part of the journey of winning and being a success.

How many times have you started a new project, a new business, a new relationship and said this time it will be better? Of course it can and it will be but only if you learn the lessons from previous.

Remember

"Every pro was once an amateur, every expert master was once a beginner. So dream big. And start today"- Robin Sharma

Of course you have to bring your awareness to and face your fear. Because it is only then that you discover the thing that billions of people throughout history have discovered before you - that failure or being wrong will not kill you.

The thing is to reframe failure from being a negative to being a positive and something useful. It is important for your overall growth as a human being and self-mastery.

See failure as a learning experience. When standing in the middle of a failure, I encourage you to ask yourself questions like:

  • What's brilliant about this situation?
  • What can I learn from this situation?
  • How can I grow further from this?

Every time you fail you become stronger. You realise more and more that it's not the end of the world. You recognise your added courage, determination, resilience that it took to rise up again. You are able to handle things that would have been much more difficult previously.

Every time you fail you can learn and increase your inner strength. So every failure can make you more and more likely to succeed. Your chance of succeeding will continue to increase.

Once you recognise that you are the master of your destiny and captain of your soul, it is imperative not to let your mediocre mind put you down with its scrutiny and to belittle your goals and ambitions.

Give yourself the space and opportunity to have light relief, to read a book, to walk in nature, to work out, to sigh, to acknowledge your breathe, to listen to your own inner coach, dream a lot, wake up on time, allow your wings to spread and fly.

Always be true to yourself. Invest in yourself. Take bold steps, reach out for help, seek all kinds of knowledge and don't let your music and passions die inside of you.

Lastly realise that fear is often based on unhelpful interpretation. As humans we like to look for patterns. The problem is we often find negative and unhelpful patterns in our lives based on a few previous experiences or potentially by misjudging a situation or miscommunication. Pay attention to your thoughts, negative and positive. Learn not to take life so seriously. Have fun, allow yourself to laugh at the negative situations and move forward.

As Les Brown says,

"Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears"
