The Low Down

Peace and tranquility embrace you as soon as you enter the opulent iron gates to Castell Son Claret. A serene tree lined drive leads to the stunning 18th Century castle set in 132 acres of woodland, manicured lavender gardens, olive and fruit groves. Hidden in the rolling hills of the Majorcan country the castle was loving restored by owner Klaus-Michael Kühne just three years ago and boasts a Michelin star candlelit restaurant, boutique cocktail bar and a world class spa. Homemade lemonade (fresh from the estate's lemon groves) is served on arrival and the super friendly staff make you feel like you're a long lost friend staying at a breathtakingly beautiful private residence.

Opt for one of the top floor rooms offering panoramic views of the gardens, hills and olive groves. All rooms boast Egyptian cotton sheets, monsoon showers, Nespresso and ample Ren products for an in room pamper. There's also an anti-ageing pillow menu!

The Spa

Bellissa Son Claret spans the basement of the castle, facilities include a serene pool with mood lighting, steam and sauna, a Moorish Hamamm and candlelit treatment rooms. A small but functional gym and tennis courts sit to the side of the main building.

The castle makes the most of its abundant local flora and fauna using locally sourced ingredients in both the restaurant and spa - offering many treatments using local aromatherapy oils and organic marine and plant based creams, as well as luxury French spa brand Thalgo.

The Treatment

Rose Aroma Massage. A bespoke rose based aromatherapy blend is offered with a choice of local bergamot, lavender, lemon and orange oils mixed with a base of almond, sesame or avocado. Massage techniques used are a combination of flowing ayurvedic movements to relax muscles and joints and shiatsu pressure points to work away tension.

Terrake 'Water' Facial - Designed by French skin experts Thalgo, the hydrating facial begins with a double cleanse, then a gentle exfoliation, a refreshing spritz of rose oil is followed by a hydrating 'peel off' mask. Bamboo sticks are used to create an anti-ageing 'lifting' facial massage.

Other treatments include body and mind rituals and experiences, black soap hammam, and bespoke couples treatments.

Activities

Tennis, personal training, hiking and cycling - with ex pro rider Guido Eickelbeck offering coaching and individual tours. Holistic offerings include yoga, meditation and mind management.
