I have to decided to write a special post about my latest love: Après London.
Many of you may recognise that my posts are usually about What I'm Wearing Today, but today- it's What I'm Doing Today!
Après is located quite literally in the heart of London, right opposite Selfridges. The perfect spot to hang out with friends or after an afternoon of shopping - so for me, it's ideal! After my weekly walk through Selfridges to see the latest trends, I have found myself just crossing the street to have chilled out end-of- the day session in their beautiful garden space. Not only do they boast stunning cocktails (and huge jump for joy for their Happy Hour prices!) they also offer a very atypical shisha menu! Having been to Après London before, I can say that the place has really come alive. The ambience, the décor, the staff and the location truly make this a wonderful little spot in London.
The barmen are extremely accommodating and can even whip up something to your taste. My friend asked for something quite specific and they were very happy to accommodate him. If somehow you're not satistifed with the choices (though I find this hard to believe given their extensive menu), just ask and they'll be more than happy to make you something you'll enjoy.
Their shishas are absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced for central London. I have fallen in love with the watermelon-mint flavoured one. The gentleman who prepares it does it expertly and with a few cocktails to go along with it- it's the perfect evening spot. They even offer a variety of alcoholic shishas! If you want to splash out and try something new one evening, I recommend the Watermelon Martini shisha or the Cookies n Cream shisha (made with coffee Patrón!) They even offer drinks to go along with these specialties! Truly unique!
And if you're feeling peckish- the canapés are divine! The small bite sizes means you can try almost everything on the menu if you're with a friend or two. The mini burgers or sliders have become one my favourites (and I'm told one of their best-sellers), I'm also in love with the salmon and tarte-tatin plates too! They even have some alcoholic ice lollies!
If you want to be immersed in the best London has to offer, with trendy people, lively music and a consistent repertoire of London's best DJ's, then Après London is the place for you. And if you fancy being indoors for some dancing or more lounging, there is a newly refurbished lounge on the lower ground floor with massive comfy chesterfield sofas. It's a nice change from clubbing in the west end as they close at 3am! Après London is a gem.
