Cameron McCulloch

Mid forties male 12 months Post Bariatric Surgery

After a visit from the BBC to interview him about his upcoming Bariatric Surgery, Cameron was asked if he might like to continue sharing his story with the world in an update with the BBC should they decide to make one. After being advised to start a blog he jumped straight in and produced the worlds biggest fridge magnet.
Hopefully you will agree that he has a talent for a story and find his musings of some interest to your daily read.
Cameron is a single man living in Wantage near Oxford U.K. He enjoys many things including following his football team, walking his dog, writing screenplays and fixating about what I eat!

Are the Obese the Media's New Whipping Boys?

A bit of a statement to be sure but I for one am beginning to wonder this very thing. I am sick and tired of picking up the newspapers only to see a negative spin on a morbidly obese individual.

Hopes And Dreams Are Life's Sunbeams

Whether it be a diet or a health kick, improving your personal best at running or walking or simply identifying how you would like your life to be in a years time these hopes and dreams are the stuff that life is made of otherwise we just stagnate.

What's Eating the Morbidly Obese

As time goes on, I know for a fact that I will be congratulated on how well I look and how slim I have become and be told I have done well, but the minute that it is known that I have cost the NHS in the region of £8,000 people's opinion of this weight loss will change.

Clinical Trials for the Morbidly Obese

Being one of life's overweight people who are unfortunate enough to be regarded as Morbidly Obese, I am regularly belittled and derided for my size. Even when a trip to a medical establishment looks likely to be on the cards - somewhere a person should be safe from such things.

Life in the Shires

All this time only barely seeing the beauty of the world go by and getting time to take it all in. Always living by the routine that works so that when the weekend comes it can be used to party or visit the countryside although once there, it is more often than not bypassed as heading to a smaller city to have lunch and shop is more familiar.

School Reunion - To Go or Not to Go, That Is The Question

I am today a much different person to that child. In some respects I would like to tell him it will be alright and deal with it for him, in others I am glad it has made me the man I am today. I honestly have to be hard pushed to fear anyone so it certainly did one thing for me, it built character.

What Price My Fortune? Must There Be Fame?

I have always hoped that one day my writing would get me somewhere and since blogging, have had so many encouraging replies from all over the world, I have dived in once again to the world of creation with renewed vigour; and am once again determined to take my best chance.

The Prozac Bucket O'Lard List

So I have now decided that after the surgery and the following weight loss it will be time for wholesale change. I have a bucket list of sorts, not to do before I kick the thing but more to do with the chance that now I possibly could.

What's the Right Diet for You?

I'm not sure if you watched the Horizon program, but if you did, I wonder if you had as many light bulb moments as I did. It was crazy; they were going off like a ball bearing setting off the lights on a pinball machine. Each time a statement was made its core rang true with me.

The World's Biggest Fridge Magnet

I am currently awaiting Bariatric Surgery and whilst doing so appear to have some time on my hands, mostly spent trying to keep my mind off food. This time will be spent wisely or it will be spent blogging and I fear the second option will win.
