Since my late teens, I've been a total perfume addict. I do fall in and out of love though but there is a core perfume wardrobe I can go back to for the last 28 years. My nose has got more refined as I have aged, a bit like my taste in wine (who knew Liebfraumilch would end up tasting like water when you're over 30).

Paris Fashion Week, British Designers and French Wines With Style

Paris Fashion Week is one of my favourite times, and whilst it takes place in the capital of France, it is very much an international event. And there are so many Brits there. It struck me that it could be fun to match some of these talented British fashion gurus, with that other French icon, and my specialist subject, French wine.

Never before have we had such variety and freedom, and when it comes to fashion, pretty much anything goes. One particular sector of the market, children's wear, is seeing rapid growth and, according to The Telegraph, in the UK alone it's estimated to be worth a staggering £500 million.

While most have celebrated the updated box jacket and those ah-mazing ball gowns, a certain pink embroidered organza dress could be my spring highlight. And it's pink, pink!

Philo is responsible for turning the trend tide, stripping back the limbs of the embellished sartorial landscape, and leaving a purer, refined quality behind. Céline is the calm eye of the fashion storm, a serene place where stylish boats can float and fish with no fear of maximalist predators.

Low Rise

Kitten heels have a bad reputation. Notoriously unforgiving and frequently spotted on schoolgirls at their first social, your scepticism is justified. As the contrary fashion merry-go-round spins, prepare to embrace a new kind of shoe, a whole load less kitteny. Out with the old, in with the...old. You know the drill.

I don't wear these shoes often, only when I feel that I need a pop of colour. They are the classic YSL tribute sandals and come in literally every colour and texture every summer season. I adore the patent texture of these shoes as they are easy to clean!

Dressing 'casually' can be a problem. Like many things, the more thought you put into it, the room there is for error.

No, not another piece bemoaning the terrifying onset of national obesity, but good news from fashion's frontline. Over-sized clothing is this season's most dominant trend and one that finally allows most of us can participate in without inflicting a savage battering on our self-esteem.

In March 2009, Belarusian model Maryna Linchuk opened John Galliano's autumn 2009 show. She was the embodiment of the eastern peasant top to toe; from the headwear to the pointed almost primitive shoes she wore. Two and a half years on, and elements of a similar aesthetic have crept their way back onto runways worldwide, both in Autumn and Resort collections, 2012 and 2013 respectively.

I've fallen, head over staggeringly high heels, in love. Again. This is becoming too regular an occurrence. Temporarily blinded by a uniform of black and grey, Resort 2013 has reminded me of my love for fabrics.

I was aiming for something easy, simple, and colourful today! I needed something simple and comfortable to wear. T-shirt, jeans, jacket and DONE! I can't emphasise enough how much I ADORE this season's colours!

I prefer the idea of 'style' to 'fashion'. My wardrobe contains mainly black and navy, rather more tonal than rainbow. Yesterday someone described my outfit as 'ombre'; thank goodness my hair isn't dip dyed.
