6 Of The Prettiest Playmats

Babies need a dozen different accessories, from prams to changing mats, but playmats are often missed off the list. Playmats are an easy way to keep your baby entertained for long periods of time, whilst improving their interaction, co-ordination and visual skills. Plus, it means you can pop your baby down for a few minutes without worrying that they're in any danger.

We're spoiled for choice when it comes to picking up a playmat, and plenty of them have added features to give them a new dimension.

For example, the Blossom Farm Sit Me Up Cosy (£37.50 from Mothercare) on the right, is a soft playmat that acts as a 'nest' for your baby to lie in safely. The playmat allows your baby to learn early play in the first few months, and as your baby gets older it will support their back and head.
