Diary Of A 5-Year-Old: Mucky Pup

I like getting dirty a lot. It's brilliant when it's raining and I'm allowed to play in the garden. Mummy always makes me

wear welly boots but what I want to do is take them off and stamp my feet in the mud. Sometimes I'm allowed to get dirty and sometimes I'm not. When I'm supposed to stay clean like when we go to visit Auntie Edith I try really hard I really really do. Honestly. But Sometimes I just seem to get dirty anyway. Mummy is always asking how I manage to get so mucky but it's obvious really, I'm closer to the ground than she is aren't I?

Worms live in the mud. It must be brilliant being a worm. They're dirty all the time. It's their job to be dirty and they don't have to get in the bath before they go to bed. Dad says if you get dirt under your fingernails and then chew them you'll get worms so that's what I'm going to do so I can make a worm zoo. I will give them all names and feed them....er what do worms eat? I'll ask mummy. Or maybe it's better to ask dad. It was his idea.

Emily from Kindergarten doesn't like playing in the mud like I do. She says its like being a pig but our neighbour has pigs and he says they are clean animals. They never look so clean when I see them but he's a grown up so I suppose he must be right.

Anyway, if God didn't want us to play in the dirt then why did He make so much of it?
