Nominations for the British Fashion Awards - the UK equivalent of the fashion Oscars - have been announced, and in addition to the usual suspects (Burberry, Christopher Kane and Erdem), Victoria Beckham's topped the list with a nomination for Best Designer Brand.

Beckham will be vying for the title against Pringle of Scotland, Mulberry and Burberry, while Phoebe Philo for Celine, Christopher Kane and Erdem will go head to head in the Designer of the Year category. And while VB won't be presenting her spring/summer 2011 collection here at London Fashion Week (she's showing in NY on 12 September) fans of the designer can follow her through the show process via Twitter, where she'll be posting messages under the moniker @vbfashionweek.

Other BFA nominees include Mary Katrantzou, Meadham Kirchoff and Michael van der Ham (Ready-to-Wear Emerging Talent Award); Lara Stone, David Gandy and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Best Model); Camilla Skovgaard, Emma Hill for Mulberry and Nicholas Kirkwood (Best Accessory Designer); E.Tautz, Margaret Howell, Paul Smith and Bailey for Burberry (Best Menswear Designer); Charlotte Olympia, Husam El ODeh and Jessica McCormack (Accessories Emerging Talent Award) and Nick Knight, Nicola Formichetti and Rankin for the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.

The British Fashion Awards will take place on 7 December at the Savoy. May the best Brits win!
