Autumn/Winter 2010 Trend Report: Day Four

On day four of our autumn/winter trend reports, it's all about vampish ladies and global travellers. Scroll down to get inspired for the season ahead.

The mood: Fashionable types tend to prefer outfits that subtly suggest chic rather than yell sex appeal, but the tables have turned for autumn/winter. Vampish dressing - with a touch of S&M here and there - result in figure-skimming silhouettes, risqué sheer and peek-a-boo cut-outs. Leading the pack is Dolce & Gabbana, where Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce created an entire wardrobe for their favourite client: the femme fatale.

The must-haves: Tight pencil skirts, kitten heels or towering stilettos, sheer chiffon blouses, laced corsets, leather trousers, and plenty of attitude.

MyDaily tip: Rev up the sex appeal with undone hair and smouldering eye makeup.

New Frontiers

The mood: Anything goes as designers mix and layer culture reference, via pattern and print. Not a trend for the fashionable wallflower, this is all about self expression via eye-frazzling drama. It's all about mismatched layering creating new proportions like the new awkward-length longer skirts teamed with enveloping knits or aviator jackets. Raid the dressing up box and have some fun!

The must-haves: Wraps, shrouding coats and capes, statement bib necklaces, plenty of layers and plenty of embellishment.

MyDaily tip: Play with print and texture, but pull it together by focusing on a single colour.
