Catwalk Review: Lacoste S/S 2011

Catwalk Review: Lacoste S/S 2011

DESIGNER: Christopher Lemaire of Lacoste

INSPIRATION: Op Art, the bold lines of Bauhaus and architecture.

TOP LOOKS: The sweet little sheaths in varying gradations of orange and persimmon.

ACCESSORIES: The company has just launched its first fashion jewelry collection of cool resin cuffs.

WHO WAS THERE: Hillary Alexander, Suzy Menkes and Natalie Massenet of Net-a-Porter were there along with a large Asian contingent, and of course, the French.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: The designer's inspiration was almost applied literally, which meant bold colours and blocks of colour. The silhouettes also took on a shorter, boxier feel. With the little sheath dresses, it works, with the shirts, they start to look like scrubs.
