Diary Of A 6-Year-Old: The Magic Man

School was good today. A magic man came. He was tall and his name was Magic Marco. Emily said he just looked tall because of his big black hat like Cat in the Hat's but without the stripes. And black. She said her Uncle Jack is taller. Magic Marco wore a purple cape with red stars all over it. I definitely want one of those. But it's not the cape or the hat that make him magic, it's his magic wand!

We sat in the assembly hall and he kept asking who wanted to help him. I put my arm up as quickly as I could and as straight as an arrow like Mrs Fairclough always said, but he never picked me. I really wanted to help. Then he picked Eleanor Brown and she was sitting right next to me. She didn't have to do anything, just stand there and Magic Marco waved his magic wand and took money out of her ears. It was brilliant. When she sat down I kept looking in her ears but I couldn't see any coins.

Then he picked Ben Lightfoot. We call him Ben Bigfoot. He doesn't like that very much. He got to do loads. Magic Marco gave him two paper party hats which he had to put on. They were too big and kept falling over his face which made us all laugh. Then he told Ben to tear them up into little pieces which he did, I saw him do it. Magic Marco got all the pieces in his hand, shook his magic wand over them and when he opened his hand there was one big hat. And it fitted.

I want to be a magic person when I grow up.
