US handbag brand Coach is readying to win the hearts and minds of UK shoppers. First stop is Westfield, with a boutique slated to open during the first half of next year, followed by a flagship store on London's New Bond Street, which is expected to welcome visitors from June. Coach plans to open a total of 15 boutiques in the UK over the next three years.
The handbag label, known for its distinctive "C" logo is headed up by designer wunderkind Reed Krakoff. Once the realm on ladies that lunch, Krakoff transformed the brand with hipper styles like the Madison and the Kristin. When it hits the UK, Coach will no doubt hope to rival Brit brands like Mulberry and Anya Hindmarch, with handbags expected to sell for between £175 and £550.
