Those guys on Mad Men aren't the only ones lusting after Christina Hendricks's killer curves.
"Women hit on me," Hendricks confesses in the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, adding that gay men go after her too. "They say to me, 'Well, I'm not straight, but if I was...' I think it's so flattering."
That's just one of the scintillating stories that the cover girl, looking ravishing in a red Michael Kors jersey drape dress, reveals inside the magazine. The actress also spills the secret to sexy secretary Joan Harris's sultry sway.
"All the costumes were so tight," she explains of her TV wardrobe. "I wasn't used to the undergarments, so my natural swing became more of a swing. After I became conscious of it, my hands came up too."
Just like Joan, Hendricks has gotten a lot of attention for her figure, and, the actress says, "I was surprised, because it wasn't something I was focused on. And then it became very positive, and people were saying very nice things."
Except, of course, the New York Times's Cathy Horyn, who claimed Hendricks was too big for the peach Christian Siriano frock she wore to the Golden Globes ceremony earlier this year.
"To say something like that and put it next to a distorted picture discredits you entirely," says Hendricks, who is married to actor Geoffrey Arend. "And it hurt my feelings. I thought that dress was stunning. I stand by that dress to this day. I had just gotten back from my honeymoon, and I felt beautiful in those pictures. I was smiling and beaming, and I felt like a goddess."
Hendricks's ethereal figure is on full display in her retro-glam Terry Richardson photo shoot for Bazaar. In one shot, she wears her red hair in loose waves and a revealing black lace Stella McCartney dress as she fondles a collection of jewels by Cartier, Chopard, and Bulgari. In another, she wears a black Valentino pantsuit, which features a wide-open collar that highlights her ample cleavage.

"Since the show has gotten more popular, I've had the opportunity to wear the most amazing designers. I mean, L'Wren Scott? How did that happen?" says Hendricks, who also loves John Galliano. "Oh, Galliano! Forever and ever and ever. I don't care what he does, whether it's leather, delicate lace, or anything. I'll carry a riding crop down the red carpet."
While Hendricks credits Mad Men co-star January Jones with helping her develop her current style, the former model also reveals that she herself played a crucial role in helping another woman craft her look in the '90s.
"I was in Milan, and you would see the same girls at castings. There was one girl - she was like, 'I can't get any work. I'm so sick of this, I'm ready to quit. I love your hair colour. What do you colour your hair with?' and I was like, 'Oh, it's red. Here's my formula.' It was Karen Elson. A couple of weeks later, she had bright-red hair," Hendricks recalls.
"Sorry, Karen, but you did ask about my hair colour. Then I saw her on the cover of Italian Vogue, and the rest is history!"
