After weeks of speculation over her blossoming bump, and slip of the tongue by Thandie Newton, Mariah Carey has finally confirmed that she is expecting a baby with husband Nick Cannon.
The singer revealed the news to Access Hollywood and admitted that "It's been a long journey. It's been tough because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy".
Cannon shared his excitement about the pregnancy and said, "We've had names picked out from the first day we met and we stay true to that".
However, it was Newton that was the first to disclose the couple's secret on US chat show, The View. The actress suggested that Mariah dropped out of filming For Coloured Girls because she was pregnant.
We are thrilled for the happy couple, particularly after Mariah spoke out about "the dark and difficult place" she was taken to two years ago when she suffered a miscarriage. Congratulations to them both!
