Christopher Bailey is inviting you to take his job. Well, not literally, of course, but a new service from Burberry will allow customers to recreate its iconic trench to their exact specification. Bailey, who is the brand's chief creative officer, announced the scheme at the International Herald Tribune conference yesterday.
According to a statement, Burberry Bespoke will be "a new fully integrated, innovative digital platform, enabling the personalisation of the iconic Burberry trench coat" and will launch at the beginning of 2011.
We're told the service will offer around 12 million different options - from studding to snakeskin cuffs and everything in between. So when you turn up to a party, you can be safe in the knowledge no one else will be rocking the same trenchcoat.
