The lowdown: Literature lover Simon Thomas can always be found with his nose firmly Stuck in a Book, hence the name of his beautiful blog. Novels permeate almost every aspect of his life from his English Literature DPhil studies, to his job with the Oxford University libraries, but his enjoyment of good writing remains intact and thoroughly contagious.
What we love: In addition to the well-written and thoughtful book reviews, Simon posts sketches, quotations and anecdotes about his life, interacts with commenters and enthuses about other bloggers. At Stuck in a Book it's less about marks out of ten and more about being part of an extremely welcoming community.
Look out for: We've been enjoying Project 24 - a challenge Simon set himself in January to only buy 24 books during the year. The project has just reached its conclusion for 2010 but it's well worth a trip through the archives to find out which books made the grade and why. Alternatively you can check out the ongoing "50 books you must read but may not have heard about" project - currently on number 33 - which does exactly what it says. Great for finding new recommendations!
