We all love a bit of juicy gossip. So we were naturally excited about the rumours that Blake Lively was going to be the new face of Chanel.
WWD confirmed today that the Gossip Girl star is the official ambassador of Chanel's new Mademoiselle handbag line. She will front the campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld, due to appear in April magazines.
"She's a kind of American dream girl," Lagerfeld told WWD. "I think she will become a great actress."
The Mademoiselle style that 23-year-old Lively will be representing is an oblong-shaped bag featuring the iconic Chanel handle and quilting. It comes in five sizes and a range of colours and materials.
"Though I am the face of it, I will carry it like every girl," Lively told WWD. "I will always feel it's more than just a purse. It's a quilted case full of lipstick, love letters and the dreams and possibilities that I have always felt every time I see that beautiful 'CC.' "
Lively joins the roster of other famous Chanel faces, including Keira Knightley, Vanessa Paradis, Diane Kruger and Lily Allen.
