Kate Middleton's Black Velvet Coat Sells Out

Kate's Libelula coat is going, going, gone. Rex Features

Shock news of the day: Yet another outfit sported by Kate Middleton has disappeared off the shelves, a mere two weeks after the princess-to-be was spotted wearing it.

Kate Middleton caused a bit of a commotion when she attended a friend's wedding wearing a black velvet coat from Libélula (designed by Sophie Cranston). Not only did it cause a bit of a stir because of the colour (Black? to a wedding?) but the plunging sheer dress she paired it with had some tongues wagging.

According to The Daily Mirror, the velvet coat is already sold out, despite its £310 price tag. If you didn't manage to get one in time, a cheaper copycat version should be coming to a high street store near you shortly (remember what happened with that blue Issa dress?)

In other Kate news, the now-as-famous-as-she-is Nannette Reiss dress that Prince Will's fiancée wore for her engagement photo is hitting stores again tomorrow, reports Elle UK. Just register at www.reissonline.com/nannette to register and find out when you can get your hands on it.

Note to Kate: can you please start stepping out more? We're running out of outfits to copy.
