Catwalk Review: Thakoon S/S 2011

DESIGNER: Thakoon Panichgul for Thakoon

INSPIRATION: Rock 'n' roll romanticism

TOP LOOKS: Purple python mini dress; lightweight chiffon dresses of a blue floral "wallpaper" print with exposed hook-and-eye detailing; apricot silk chiffon dress

ACCESSORIES: Colourful high-heel sandals in shades of white, red, and gold by Giuseppe Zanotti

WHO WAS THERE: Kerry Washington, Desiree Rogers, Elisa Sednaoui

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Thakoon created a dreamy collection with hints of sizzle. Some of the long chiffon gowns were reminiscent of robes and looked romantic gliding down the runway. The "wallpaper" print he favored this season surfaced on silk dresses and other very sheer ones, too - the translucence offset by cool hook-and-eye detailing (much like how he used exposed zippers in past seasons). We were equally as enchanted by the hot-purple python minidress. Wonder which starlet will get her hands on it first for a red-carpet appearance.
