INSPIRATION: Legendary American women.

TOP LOOKS: Hearts trail crepe dress, gold sparkler dress, long fur vest with teal top and trousers; the trio of slinky sequin gowns at the finale.

ACCESSORIES: Stacks of bangles, round sequin sunglasses, clutches galore and large carryalls.

WHO WAS THERE: Fergie, Molly Sims, Diane Sawyer and von Furstenberg's family

WHAT WE THOUGHT: There is no denying that von Furstenberg is a woman who goes for what she wants, and today she took the 1,000 or so people watching her show through a sartorial odyssey of sorts. The journey began with a black silk gaucho jumpsuit with gold buttons and a caballero hat, and ended with a slinky version of her iconic wrap dress in the form of a long-sleeve sequin gown.

In between, there were dresses and blouses adorned with hearts, stars, even clovers; editor-appropriate ensembles of furs slung over smart blouse-and-pant combos; and alpaca overcoats that were divine. In other words, DVF doesn't draw inspiration from one single source, but in fact, from everywhere and everyone.

Both DVF and creative director Yvan Mispelaere wore clothing emblazoned with heart prints as they took their bow. It's Valentine's Day people - what's not to love?
