Catwalk Review: Charles Anastase A/W 2011/12

DESIGNER: Charles Anastase

INSPIRATION: The French designer was clearly thinking of home, producing a collection that oozed that special brand of cool that only Parisians manage to pull off.

TOP LOOKS: Anastase specialises in teaming naive, girlie silhouettes with tough details. A sweet Peter Pan collar minidress covered with jagged metal platelets or a peach satin loose-fitting frock teamed with killed black boots sums up the mood. The flared rust corduroy catsuit was not for the feint of heart.

ACCESSORIES: Er... the platform wedge boots practically stole the show, and appeared in numerous guises throughout, from red ponyskin to crocodile to baby pink leather.

WHO WAS THERE: Dedicated fashion girls Nicola Roberts both made it down for the early start.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: It was a disgrace that the show was timetabled so early (fashion people don't tend to do 10am on a Saturday), but fashion geeks (like us) who made it down saw a show brimming with Chung-friendly girlie frocks and effortless cool.
