Catwalk Review: Issa A/W 2011/12

Catwalk Review: Issa A/W 2011/12

DESIGNER: Brazilian designer Daniella Issa Helayel, celebrating the 10th anniversary of her label, which is enjoying a high-profile moment in the limelight right now, thanks to a certain Ms Middleton wearing an Issa dress for her engagement photocall recently.

INSPIRATION: The 'Ages of Women'

ACCESSORIES: The hoop earring is back, with heaps of gold jewellery providing a shimering foil to the clothes on the runway

WHO WAS THERE: With Yasmin Le Bon on the runway, who cared who was in the front row (although, to be honest, we were all hoping that Kate Middleton might have made a sneaky apperance),

WHAT WE THOUGHT: It is impossible to write about Issa right now, without mentioning Kate Middleton (I've managed it three times in less than 200 words), but attempting to concentrate on the clothes, this was a renewed, forward-thinking Issa collection with slinky dresses, sumptuous fabrics and flattering tones swishing up the runway. The pussy-bow blouses and skater skirts spoke to new fans, while the knotted jersey dresses and sleek cigarette pants will keep loyal buyers well-stocked in the coming season.
