Catwalk Review: Gianfranco Ferrè A/W 2011/12

Gianfranco Ferrè's a/w collection. Photo: PA

DESIGNER:Gianfranco Ferrè.

INSPIRATION: Riviera chic.

TOP LOOKS: Metallic bodycon dresses, sequin embellished drop waist dresses, sleeveless coats in wool and fur, tailored cashmere suits and jaw-droppingly beautiful floor-length, high-collared gowns in both shimmering gold and sheer black silk.

WHO WAS THERE: All the top fashion editors.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Ferrè's signature style is sharp and chic and this gorgeous collection did not disappoint. From body-hugging pencil skirts to sexy, low slung trousers, these fluid designs were made to flatter. While leather, wool and suede pieces in neutral shades brought a more practical feel to the collection, the use of beads, sequins and metallic materials were the real crowd pleasers.
