Catwalk Review: Jil Sander A/W 2011/12

Jil Sander a/w 2011/12. AP

DESIGNER: Jil Sander

INSPIRATION: Hitting the slopes: Raf Simons showed snow pants, hoods and stirrup trousers for a/w 2011/12. The collection had a definite '60s feel and palette.

TOP LOOKS: The fitted knit jumpers (some with hoods) in pastels and brights, the cerulean/periwinkle blue-hued belted coat-dress, relaxed maxi-dress and skirts. And let's not forget the stirrup trousers threaded into boots.

WHO WAS THERE: All the top editors and buyers.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Raf Simons' spring/summer collection is among the most coveted of the season, by celebrities, the fashion crowd and everyone else and once again, he's delivered a stellar collection full of most-wanteds, especially those knit ski jumpers, belted coats and jackets and wedge boots. The avant-garde, sleeping bag-style padded looks may be harder for most of us to pull off (or even attempt) - we'll leave those to hardcore Sander devotees like Tilda Swinton.
