Catwalk Review: Salvatore Ferragamo A/W 2011/12

DESIGNER: Massimiliano Giornetti for Salvatore Ferragamo

TOP LOOKS: Shades of black, white and grey set the tone with masuline notch lapel jackets in Prince of Wales and houndstooth patterns teamed with the fashion house's trademark pumps in crocodile and python getting our vote. . White furcoats were worn over dove or black velvet suits with white bow ties.

WHO WAS THERE: Zhang Ziyi, Suzy Menkes, Franca Sozzani and the Ferragamo clan.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Valentine's Day might be long gone, but romance was certainly in the air, with strains of classical music and a version of Al Green's Let's Stay Together providing the sound track. The collection was described by Giornetti as "a subtle game of seduction". But judging by the excited response he recieved from the fash pack, it was perhaps not quite as subtle as he'd intended.
