The hottest ticket in town isn't only to the Academy Awards. All the top celebrities did the rounds at the post-show parties, with Elton John's bash and the Vanity Fair party being the two most desirable tickets in town.

Over at the Vanity Fair festivities, Taylor Swift (in Zuhair Murad), Gwyneth Paltrow (in Michael Kors) and Jessica Biel (in Versace) all sparkled in champagne-hued dresses with plenty of embellishment. Meanwhile, Emma Stone and Joan Collins both made a statement in elaborate purple frocks (Emma's was Chanel haute couture).

Cameron Diaz showed off her mile-long legs in an asymmetrical mini-dress and Madonna showed off way too much in fishnets and sheer lace.
At the other big party in town, Elton John's annual bash, Kim Kardashian covered up her curves in a black mermaid-style J.Mendel dress, while Florence Welch also went long in a flower-encrusted Valentino gown. Katie Price was also in attendance, wearing (and busting out of) a puff-ball sequinned halter-neck frock.

We also spotted a silver trend, with Heidi Klum wearing a flashy silver Julien MacDonald gown, Emma Roberts looking chic in Jenny Packham, Malin Akerman and model Petra Nemcova sparkling in dark silver dresses and Kelly Osbourne looking gorgeous in a cap-sleeved dress from Tony Ward.
