Detox Your Home: The Eco-Friendly Spring Clean

Detox Your Home: The Eco-Friendly Spring Clean

It's that time of year again, when the sunlight creeps back into our lives (good) and shows up all the dust we've been ignoring fairly effectively through the dark days of winter (bad). Yes, it's time for a spring clean. I'm not a huge fan of cleaning – partly because I err on the side of laziness, but also because the chemicals generally involved in a serious deep-clean play havoc with the skin on my hands. If like me, you're a sensitive soul and the big name (and often harsh) brands leave your hands resembling those of a scullery maid, you might want to try this great home detox kit from eco-friendly cleaning brand Method. And with Method's fans including Stella McCartney and Brad Pitt, you'd be in pretty good company.

Method's effective and rather chic cleaning kit.

Containing a French lavender all-purpose spray, almond-scented wood cleaner, lemon-ginger floor cleaner, pink grapefruit hand wash, steel wipes, eucalyptus mint bathroom cleaner and minty fresh glass wash, the kit makes the house smell amazing, includes everything you'll need for a top-to-toe spring clean and is pleasingly packaged in 100% recycled plastic bottles. The amounts of each are generous too - especially for the £15 price tag. I put the kit through its paces yesterday and it was amazing how much more pleasant a task it was to clean the place when the smells were so delicious and also knowing that it's all non-toxic and eco-friendly. And the results were at least as good as I get with my usual harsher products.
