First it was Bruce Oldfiled, now it's Sarah Burton. Reports today have revealed that Alexander McQueen's creative director Sarah Burton will be designing Kate Middleton's wedding dress. According to the Sunday Times, Burton "has won the most coveted commission, according to fashion industry sourcess."
"A fashion source said that the dress will be a combination of Middleton's own design ideas and Burton's deep knowledge and understanding of high fashion." the report continued.
The news is yet to be confirmed by either Clarence House or Sarah Burton, but it's definitely food for thought. Designers of royal wedding dresses are usually sworn to secrecy by the palace to not reveal their involvement or details of the design, so it's unlikely there will be any further details from either party.
But given Burton's design aesthetic, one thing is for certain, if she is behind the royal wedding dress, Kate will be wearing something daring, even edgy, on her big day. We just hope that the Queen approves.
