Catwalk Review: Giorgio Armani A/W 2011/12

Catwalk Review: Giorgio Armani A/W 2011/12

DESIGNER: Giorgio Armani

INSPIRATION: Armani took his signature unstructured tailoring and played with proportion and texture for a collection that sat somewhere between boardroom and boudoir.

TOP LOOKS: Cuffed satin ankle swingers were teamed with boxy jackets, tuxedos or fur chubbies for day, while night time called for mid-calf balloon hem skirts.

WHO WAS THERE: Tina Turner (looking rather fabulous), and an array of top international fashion eds.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: When you've been in the industry as long as Armani, fashion's pursuit of the new must be, frankly, exhausting. But he pulled it out of bag. Again. Autumn/winter sees the Armani woman taken to the boudoir. She's a little more fragile, but Armani's impeccable detailing and slick tailoring ensured that she was anything but weak. We just hope that Tina approves.
