DESIGNER: Nicole Farhi
WHO WAS THERE: American Vogue editor Anna Wintour
ACCESSORIES: Gold jewellery, fast becoming one of the trends of the season, was handcrafted and lavish. Belts were ubiquitous, keeping silhouettes nipped and restrained, while the lace-up, peep-toe boots were worn with poker-thin metallic heels.
TOP LOOKS: A pleated, open-back dress, worn with white tights and ankle boots, was the perfect understated party frock, while the high-waisted, wide-leg trousers, in black or ecru moleskin, made that favourite Seventies shape modern again.
WHAT WE THOUGHT: Always chic and elegant, Nicole Farhi's latest collection was no exception. Masculine tailoring - think fitted jackets and satin cummerbunds - was mixed with softer knits and bias-cut evening gowns to create a luxurious winter wardrobe.
