After years of ill health, legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor has died at the age of 79.

The English born star started her career as a child on contract with MGM before transitioning into adult roles. She won her first Oscar in 1960 for her portrayal of Gloria Wandrous in BUtterfield 8 and a second for her turn as Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966).

While respected for her acting talent, Taylor was equally famous for her stunning beauty and impressive martial history. The Hollywood star had seven husband and even married husband number five, Richard Burton, twice.

Taylor was one of Hollywood's original superstars and one of the first women to command a million dollar salary for her role as Cleopatra in 1963.

Like Jane Russel before her, the loss of Taylor has left us wondering why they don't make movie stars like they use to.
