Anti-Ageing Beauty Products For EIGHT-Year-Old Girls

Outraged parents in America have criticised supermarket giant Walmart for launching a line of ANTI AGEING make-up products for EIGHT-year-olds.

The retailer is targeting primary school aged girls of 8-12 with its geoGIRL range of products, but more shockingly, the items are being marketed with an emphasis on their anti-ageing, anti-oxidant properties.

The 69 products in the range include foundation, mascara, lip products, eye shadows and cleansers with special packaging for smaller hands.

As worried parents voiced their objections, a spokesperson told The Star in an emailed statement:

"The geoGIRL line was developed in partnership with our customers to give parents a healthier, age-appropriate option for their tween girls who ask about wearing makeup. The decision of what is age appropriate to wear makeup rests solely with the parent.."

The make up advertised as being safe for young skins, and made with natural ingredients and antioxidants. Walmart are introducing the range as a replacement for the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen branded beauty products.

What do you think about this story?

Should there even BE specific make up ranges for 8-year-olds?

Or do you think the 'antioxident'/ anti-ageing line is being blown out of proportion?
