Baby Boy For Sex And The City Star And Lesbian Partner

The lesbian partner of Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon has had a baby boy.

Christine Marinoni gave birth to baby Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni yesterday.

The couple had not revealed they were expecting a baby, and have not released any details about the child's biological father.

A spokesperson for Cynthia and Christine said: 'Christine and baby are doing great'.

Cynthia - who plays no-nonsense lawyer Miranda Hobbs in Sex and the City - already has two children with her ex partner Danny Morzes, who she was living with when she met Christine in 2002.

They had been together for 15 years when she met 43-year-old Christine at an education rally.

Speaking about her sexual identity at the time, she said:

'In terms of sexual orientation I don't really feel I've changed. I'd been with men all my life, and I'd never fallen in love with a woman. But when I did, it didn't seem so strange. I'm just a woman in love with another woman.'

Cynthia and Christine live in Manhattan with Cynthia's two children Samantha, 14, and Charles, eight. She recently said her children now also call Christine 'Mommy'.

She told The Advocate magazine: 'Maybe I'm just lucky, but I feel like Christine is so amazing with our kids - because they're our kids.'

The pair hope to marry in New York if and when same-sex marriage becomes legal there.
