Gwyneth Paltrow Lets 6-Year-Old Daughter Play Truant To Go To Beauty Salons

Despite dishing out advice on her Goop website on how to be the perfect mother, Gwyneth Paltrow will surely not be winning any parenting awards over her latest admission - the mum of two has told a magazine that she lets her 6-year-old daughter Apple cop 'sickies' from school 'just to be with her'.

Speaking to the US edition of Good Housekeeping magazine, Gwyneth said she lets Apple stay home so they can have lunch together and go for pampering at beauty salons.

She said: 'I'll probably get kicked out of our school for admitting this, but I let Apple stay home yesterday. I just needed to be with her. We went out to lunch, we went to the beauty salon, we were together.'

Gwyneth went on to say her son then got wind of his sister's illicit days off - and Apple promised him one too. She said she told her daughter:

'Apple, couldn't you have just asked me first? I know you're trying to make your brother feel better, but...oh, Apple!'

Hmmm. All good, fun parenting, or over indulgence and setting a bad example?

What do you think of this story?

Do you allow your children to pull 'sickies'?
