Mums Take '18 Months' To Feel Attractive After Birth

A survey of thousands of new mums has found that women take an incredible 18 months after the birth of their baby to feel attractive and 'like a woman' again.

Those taking the survey used words like 'saggy', 'fat' and 'unattractive' to describe their feelings in the immediate months after childbirth.

Six out of ten said their confidence diminished when they realised their old clothes didn't fit their post-pregnancy bodies, and a quarter said they felt under pressure to compete with other mothers – including celebs – to lose the baby-weight quickly.

The survey on fashion website A Beautiful Mummy also found 64 per cent of new mums struggled to make it through the day because of lack of routine, whilst many struggled to find 'me time', with 63 per cent saying they let themselves go by not attending to their hair, make-up or clothes.
