At almost six my boy has his first 'wobbly' tooth.
In fact he instantly seems to have a few.
This is not a stage I have looked forward to. Partly as I anticipate my son swallowing most of his milk teeth – and we all know what that will mean – but, more so, as it will most likely ruin his beautiful smile.
I've heard parents say how cute they think kids look with gaps in their teeth, but I am not of that school of thought.
Mini-bumpkins are not cute.
Also as a 'brace veteran' and someone who had 16 milk teeth forcibly removed, I know the possible anguish and discomfort in my boy's oral future.

So it isn't all about the aesthetics.
Just mostly.
Plus, I don't really want to be wearing a Tooth Fairy outfit.
