Six Months Pregnant Mum Forced To Jump From Burning Building

A six months pregnant woman has cheated death by jumping from a burning building on to the street below, breaking her fall by landing on her husband.

The drama unfolded in an apartment block in Belmont, California. The husband had already escaped deadly flames and smoke and fled the building. His wife then jumped from a two-storey window, and was caught by her husband.

The un-named woman was taken to hospital for observation, whilst her husband suffered a broken ankle.

Six other people were said to be injured in the fire, including other residents who had leapt from windows.
