Gwyneth Paltrow definitely wasn't working mellow yellow at the LA signing of her new cookbook, My Father's Daughter.
It was a bolder hue altogether as the star bravely worked the spring 2011 trend for bright block colour in a figure-hugging pencil dress.
The 38-year-old teamed the canary-yellow number with funky black shoe boots, big bouncy hair and a slick of pink lippie.
She's been on a whirlwind tour promoting her new recipe book, My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness, which is an ode to her late father, Bruce Paltrow.
She recently said of cooking: "I think the importance of eating together as a family and making homemade food that is nourishing and good for you is huge.
"My dad used to really talk to us when we ate dinner and see what we thought about things, and now I use that opportunity to do the same thing with my kids as well."
