Michelle Obama Gets Bridal In Tom Ford For Royal Visit

The Obamas and the Windsors strike a nice relaxed and unawkward pose... Photo: PA

There seems to some confusion circling amongst dignitaries about the dress code for the Obama's current European tour. Yesterday we observed that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, got mixed up and donned an ensemble fit for a wedding guest to meet the US President and his wife.

But last night Michelle Obama went one better.

The First Lady rocked a floor-gazing ivory dress by Tom Ford that was distinctly bridal for her state dinner with the Queen. An attempt to upstage recent bride Kate, perhaps?

Michelle wore her hair in an updo and accessorised with drop earrings, a clutch and evening gloves.

Meanwhile, Barack looked suave in a white tie and tails, the Queen looked suitably regal in a sparkling gown, complete with tiara and sash - and Prince Philip, well, looked like Prince Philip.
