Facebook Party Girl Crashed By 1600 Guests On 16th Birthday

PA

A teenager unintentionally threw the mother of all 16th birthday parties by accidentally inviting 15000 guests - 1600 of whom turned up!
The German teenager, who has been identified only as Thessa, used Facebook's event facility to invite her friends to a party to celebrate her 16th birthday, but inadvertently made the invitation PUBLIC.
Despite cancelling the party when she realised her mistake, 1600 revelers still descended on her Hamburg home.

The mortified teen said she was completely shocked when party-goers started arriving:

'I'm so terribly sorry, I didn't want this to happen at all,' she told a German newspaper. 'When I was sitting with my grandmother on the sofa and heard what was going on I was totally shocked. A friend said that bottles were being thrown and fences being broken down. I felt terrible.'

Thessa has now reportedly closed down her Facebook account...

Do you let your kids use Facebook for 'events'? Or is it just too risky?
