If you're not a tennis fan, chances are you've spent a lot of this week gazing blankly at the television trying to fathom how the scoring works while secretly hoping Lady Gaga would turn up wearing an outfit made from Post-it notes to enliven proceedings.
Well, if that describes you, why weren't you watching Bethanie Mattek-Sands?
We first suspected she might be trying to become professional tennis' answer to Lady Gaga when we caught sight of her pre-Wimbledon outfit. It was an understated fluorescent number, covered with partially dissected tennis balls and topped with a mohican-style hat.
The star then donned a ball-bedecked jacket designed by Alex Noble - the man behind the real Lady Gaga's nude-and-lace outfit from the 2010 Brit awards - for her appearance on Court 14 yesterday.
Sadly we won't be seeing any more of the flamboyant star's wardrobe as she exited the tournament after losing her match against Misaki Doi.
Ah well - perhaps Venus Williams or Roger Federer will take up the fashion mantle.
