Imagine giving birth to a 16lb 1oz baby. That was the astonishing birth weight of JaMichael Brown, who was also two feet tall at birth.

Proud parents Janet Johnson and Michael Brown revealed their large bundle of joy live via satellite from the hospital, the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas.

"Maybe he'll be a basketball player," his proud dad said. "I was just amazed when he came out, how big he was. I'm just proud of him ...."

Johnson, a geriatric nurse who suffered gestational diabetes during her pregnancy with JaMichael, has three older children but the largest weighed in at 8lbs. This time her doctor told her to expect a baby weighing between 12 and 13 pounds.

She gave special instructions to friends invited to her baby shower. "I just said we were expecting a big baby so to not get any newborn stuff."

But doctors underestimated just how big JaMichael would be. When he came into the world via Cesarean section a little after 9 am last Friday, he weighed a colossal 16lbs 1oz.

JaMichael was born with a full head of hair, measuring a full 2 feet long with a head measurement of 15 inches and a chest measuring 17 inches.

Is this the biggest baby you have ever seen?
