An emotional Angelina Jolie was honoured with the Heart of Sarajevo Award yesterday, for her work on her directorial debut, In the Land of Milk and Honey - a film set during the Bosnian war.
The actress had arrived unannounced to the 17th annual Sarajevo Film Festival, with Elie Saab gown, the 36-year-old was visibly moved to receive a standing ovation.
"I will start crying if you don't stop," she said of the raptuous applause. "I told Brad in the car I was afraid I was going to cry."
"I am so honoured to be here at this festival. There is no greater example of the strengths of the artists and the festival that began during the war and grew stronger every year."
