BBC:

Protesters have disrupted a BBC Proms concert by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The soloist, Gil Shaham, was about to play Bruch's violin concerto conducted by Zubin Mehta when some people in the audience began booing and shouting.

BBC Radio 3 interrupted its live broadcast twice before returning later.

Arrests should have been made for this to send out a message. I am disappointed.

should America and Israel be arrested for dropping bombs on Palestinian children ?
01:36 PM on 09/02/2011
What are you talking about? What is the specific incident that you are referring to here? Palestinian terrorists are bombing up Israel all the time, damaging property, killing innocent children, breaking families and making Israel as uncomfortable place to live as possible. Unfortunately, the media consistently publishes commentary from Palestinians who reject Israel’s legitimacy.

i am more offended by israel's behaviour than i am by the protests.

every opportunity should be taken to show our disapproval therefore the protest was valid.

the message wasn't sent to the musos, it was sent to the state of israel and seems to have got through - therefore it was valid.

You are obviously not offended by the protests... It is not a question of you being more offended by "the evil zionists".... Why do you mince words.

And the protests via a bunch of musicians was totally inappropriate and disgusting.

The protesters were moved more by hatred than their common sense.

The protests should not be aimed at musicians and other artists, but at governments. At the least they should be held outside the venue. (This happened to someone close me a few years ago; the picketers had the courtesy to stay outside the hall.) Imagine the hours and hours of practice and rehearsals by the musicians only to be disrupted so rudely.

I am seriously outraged by this... not the time and place for this kind of protest.

Protesters who disrupted a concert by an Israeli string quartet in Edinburgh have had charges of racially aggravated conduct thrown out by a court. He said the prosecution in its present form was unnecessary and, having concluded it was not necessary or proportionate and therefore incompetent, it had to be dismissed.

Speaking outside court, Mr Napier - the chairman of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign - said he and the other four protestors welcomed the sheriff's ruling.

"He ridiculed and satirised the procurator fiscal's efforts to protect a foreign state, in this case Israel, from criticism," Mr Napier said

"It is a constant never-ending attempt by those who support the state of Israel to name those who support the Palestiniains as anti-Semites. It never ends. Well it ended in court today and we will not be intimidated by this smear in the future."

Your readers may be interested to know, from my own experience, about a case of an action by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra that is incompatible with that of a democratic institute.

In 1987 I produced a documentary film called "Nablus - a Rebellious Town".

In the film the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra was shot playing Dvorak's "NEW WORLD SYMPHONY" in a special concert dedicated "IN LOVE TO THE I.D.F" . The sequence was shot in the Occupied West Bank to a crowd of Israeli soldiers gathered in a natural amphitheater in the Jordan Valley.

At the time Maj. Gen. Amram Mitzna led the IDF Central Command. He gave me an interview saying that "The IDF has won the fight against the Palestinians, by "a combination of force and wisdom".

Mr Gitai - that is equivalent of stopping the performance of someone who performed at a USO performance (btw Robin Williams and Marilyn Monroe have both done so) because you do not like the US army.

Btw... Mr Gitai - are you so rigid that you simply call the entire IDF as evil because of the dispute in the West Bank and Gaza or is there any room for moderation in your thinking???

shame on BBC! these BDS guys are barbaric!!!

btw, did you know that the founder of BDS is a Tel-Aviv University student??
he calls on the world to boycott the Israeli academy and the University in which he studies!!!

in South Africa the would have never let him study with the rest....

in israel he can study and live wherever he wants (he is an arab who lives& study in Te- Aviv, the most expensive and advanced city of israel)

Yup these guys are musicians... I agree it is shameful for them to protest at that venue. Then again it is "BDS" - so I am hardly surprised.

Well done Brits.

You're light years ahead of Americans on this issue. However, according to BBC's World Survey, 50% of Americans oppose Israel and want aid cut off. Unfortunately, zionists maintain a lock on American corporate media, so the World Survey was never reported.

However, it does go to show you - in one year 10% of America turned against the Zionists_. Its not from our TV - so it must be the internet. Finally!

Light years ahead of what? A group of Illegals who voted for Hamas and have a mission statement to slaughter all the citizens of Israel and take back the land. You notice haji I said citizens not Jews. There are over 1 million Muslims living in Israel with the highest level of Education and Income in the Middle east. They are the only arabs in the middle east living in a democracy. Stick to your lies. The British are spineless as we in America, and the rest of the world are well aware of. Of course the BBC canceled the concert. Remember the Chamberlain appesement thing. You godless weaklings are being overrun by Islam. In a few years you will be living under Sharia law. The people of Israel stand up to them. Go cower in a corner somewhere.

Look on the bright side ... at least the usury and "bailouts" will stop.

Hope it comes before we are all homeless with worthless retirement accounts.

We know who was dancing -

"dancing Mossad".

Keep spewing your propaganda. We are wining the war, like I said in my post. We have never won bigger. The internet is ours and America has never shifted 10% against Israel - ever.

The times are changing zionist_
