Kylie Minogue and Madonna have both tried their hand at schoolmarm chic this week thanks to strikingly similar monochrome dresses - but which stylish star shone brightest?
Madonna opted for a rather serious calf-length black and white dress at the Venice Film Festival for a photocall for her film W.E. while Kylie wore hers to pop to an office in Fulham today.
As with most fashion face-offs, the devil is in the detail so let's compare:
Madge went for a longer length than Kylie and kept it simple without any extra detailing. She couldn't resist a crucifix or two though and that made everything a bit nun-adjacent.
Kylie's has buttons galore (possibly a reference to Kate Middleton's button-tastic McQueen?) and a collar that Kaiser Karl himself would envy but if we're talking black dresses we much preferred the Dolce & Gabbana she wore to the GQ Men of the Year awards.
That said, we're rather fond of a schoolmarmish moment so kudos to both for giving it a go!
