Fifa 12 has out-performed last year’s Fifa 11, taking out the title of third biggest launch week ever. Call of Duty’s two editions are the only games to have out-paced them in all-formats launch weeks.

Gears of War 3 last week claimed it was "the biggest game of 2011" as the franchise's sales reached one billion dollars. That game came in at position two, after slumping down by 76%.

Xbox 360 is by far the gaming format of choice, with a whopping 54% of the share. PS3 has 44% of the gaming market. Together they smash the competition, which linger with 2% of the market.

Releasing a game on PS3 does wonders for a game's chart position. Ubisoft’s ‘Child of Eden’ was up 765% to the number 29 position, thanks to the release of the PS3 version.
