Style and shopping guru Mary Portas has blasted the idea that the Duchess' style begs to differ.

She may not be an 'icon', but she's definitely an fashion 'idol'.

Her £399 navy-blue engagement dress by Issa sold out within hours of the announcement in November 2010.

Just a few weeks later, fans stocked up on the £159 cream Reiss dress she chose to wear in her engagement photographs shot by Mario Testino.

And, when she picked British designer Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen to design her wedding dress, copycat frocks sold out across the globe.

What's more, world-renowned designer Giorgio Armani has also publicly praised her sense of style.

He revealed his admiration for Middleton's wardrobe choices when speaking to WWD. Armani described the future royal as "so discreet and straightforward, but highly aware of fashion trends".
