With Karl Lagerfeld dismissing the idea of doing future collaborations to start lower-end lines under his own label and Cartier swearing that they will never collaborate, it seemed as though collaborations were seeing the beginning of the end. However, some brands, such as H&M and Target, need the exposure that designer collaborations provide. And the result: further innovation. A theme collection based on a fictional character?
